Well, Patricia is too!
​ In 2019, PD Hoyt was very curious about dragonflies because she started seeing many of them and thought,
this is very strange because she had never seen one before; so, she started reading as much as she could about dragonflies.
This curiosity lead her on a quest and one of her stories is based on this journey and why she named her business after this
insect. I hope you will be curious too and read her stories to find out why she chose the dragonfly as her publishing name.
Patricia encourages everyone to read her stories which help educate children to learn, grow, and develop a love for learning.
At the end of some of her stories are lesson plans and character puppets, that can be used to involve children in meaningful
learning by interacting with the story and engaging children in play while using the story book.
The paper character puppets encourage interaction, socialization, language and reading skills as well as communication skills.
P.D. Hoyt hopes you will love the illustrators she has chosen to bring her stories to life!
Parents will enjoy the repeated familiar phrases that help young children develop fluency in reading.
Children love to be involved with fingerplays, songs, rhythm, rhyme, and predictable repeated word phrases.
They also enjoy using the character puppets to make their own stick puppets to act out the story and to create
their own stories through dramatic play by using their imagination and creativity.

Patricia Dunfey Hoyt is a published author, educator and retired Elementary Education teacher as well as a mother.
In her 34 years of teaching experience, she has owned and operated an activity center and directed three pre-school/childcare facilities.
In the public school system, she taught kindergarten through fifth grade.
She has two adult children and lives in Thornton, N.H. with her partner, Lester. Patricia enjoys reading, writing, and creating stories and hopes you enjoy them too!
